So stoked to tell you all about how incredible my Lost Lands experience was! I traveled all the way up to Columbus, Ohio to attend Excision’s Premier Bass Experience, Lost Lands Music Festival. I can honestly say that this is one of my favorite festivals I have been to thus far. And there were actual dinosaurs! How many festivals have real moving dinosaurs? Not many.

Having spent four years in the midwest for college, I was excited to get back out there where a big group of my supporters and followers are. Everyone who approached me for pictures or to just say hi couldn’t have been more friendly or sweet. The generosity and autheticity is a few things  I always loved about the gloving scene in Chicago.

My favorite set from the weekend had to be Rusko. It was so reminiscent of events that I had attended when I first started gloving. Some of my favorite nostalgic, traditional dubstep
sounding tracks made their way into his set taking me back to the 2011 days. Those of you who haven’t been gloving that long, just know that the scene had a different welcoming vibe to it as it wasn’t as integrated into mainstream entertainment, yet. On the final day I stopped by the Facemelt Crew gloving meet up and got some lightshows in. I think I gave over 30 lightshows in a row and my knees were bruised. But totally worth it!

It is really wild coming from a festival like EDC where you have a over 200K attendees while Lost Lands had only roughly 30K. The sense of community and people’s willingness to express their individuality at smaller camping festivals always gives me hope for the electronic dance music scene.

Thanks for a wonderful weekend and thank you to Emazinglights for sponsoring my trip! I also snagged a video during Rezz’s set. Be sure to give it a view and a like!
